Consuite Staff Needed!

Consuite Staff Needed!

Hello, Penguicon attendee’s, new and veteran.

My name is Dan Eckerd and I am the 2017 Head of Hospitality for Penguicon. I am looking to fill staff positions in the Consuite this year. As staff you schedule your hours (minimum of 8) you’ll be working in the consuite. This means you can go to panels, parties, or anything else – plus work the consuite and help out! Duties can include cleaning up, restocking food/snacks, aiding with flow of traffic, and serving beer (must be of age).

Come, Meet, Greet, and Interact with Penguicon Attendees.

Whether you have worked the consuite for years or this is your first con, I would like to work with you this year in Consuite.

If you have further questions you can email me at [email protected] interested parties should email the following info: First and last name, Email address, and Cell number so you can be registered as staff. Did I mention Staff gets a reduced badge registration rate? $25.00!

Thank you and see you at Penguicon!

Dan Eckerd

2017 Penguicon Head of Hospitality

We need your DIY Track Panels!

We need your DIY Track Panels!

DIY. Do it yourself. And when you know how to do that… then teach others! Penguicon is OpenSource and Science Fiction. And what’s more open source than making things from scratch? In fact, in today’s world, you can DIY some pretty Science Fiction level coolness. With the simplification of a lot of tech, you can build a satellite on your desktop, you can etch intricate designs with a laser the size of a toaster oven, or you can go old-school and hem your pants by hand.

But there are people out there who don’t realize how easy some of this is. And we need YOU to pass along the information. Do a hands-on demonstration. Lead a room-full of people in crafting their own creations. Explain the science behind weaving, or the interwoven intricacies of how to use or build a 3D printer. Show people how easy it is to clean the carburetor in their lawn mower.

Maybe you’re a history buff. Talk about the history of guilds. Share your knowledge of the Gutenberg press. Tell us about the man who first looked at a laser and thought “Phenomenal cosmic powers! Itty bitty desk space.”
Whatever you know how to do, share the knowledge. Let’s get our hands dirty and make sure that we can (literally) rebuild the world as we’d like to see it.
The form is easy. So easy that one might say you could… do it yourself. Don’t forget to check the WishList for ideas!
